The story of 3080s Local Style started with an old house in Yancheng. Previously as the first property the founder’s grandmother saved up to own, it once housed the reputable Zheng-Mei Wedding Dress Store, which has witnessed the rise and fall of Yancheng. The property was regenerated into the current mixed-use hub, 3080s Apartment, which now functions both as a guesthouse and a cultural space. Rooted in the ethos of “local is the new global”, 3080s Apartment features in-depth cultural experience in Yancheng and Kaohisung at the heart of its offer.
Flourishing from this root, 3080s Local Style has expanded its operations and curatorial gesture into a community-wide practice which now encompasses the entire Yancheng district. These include initiatives such as 3080s Market Stall in the traditional market behind the Apartment, an exhibition space 3080s Showcase at Dagouding area, and the House of Takao Ginza guesthouse and café located in the oldest commercial hub of Kaohsiung. Through its signature interventions combining regeneration with cultural events, 3080s Local Style spreads the beauty of Yancheng by preserving the old-school flavor of this community.

Through in-depth community participation and engagement based on its long-term field research, 3080s Local Style collaborates with local cultural workers, historians, designers and artists, to co-develop printed materials and commercial products to promote the story of Yancheng.
Integrating its local experience with a twist of creativity, 3080s Local Style accepts project commission from exhibition curation to event production, as a social practice of drawing attention to marginalized issues. Previous commissions include guided tours and trips organized in collaboration with Megaport Music Festival and Wordwave Festival, the special art and technology exhibition 2020 Digiwave focusing on technology and ocean conservation, as well as The Paw Wurf Music Festival, the first event of its kind that is hosted in an animal shelter.
